The history of Piscines Aqua-Pro began in 1990 when François Lyons and Charles Ménard worked as sales representatives for pool retailer Arra. François (native of Masson) and Charles (native of Gatineau) then dreamed of founding their own company in order to be able to offer the people of the Outaouais, the best products in the pool and spa industry while offering ultra service. personalized. 1992
January 1992… Two young entrepreneurs with $5,000.00 in their pocket. This is how it all started.
Aqua-Pro Pools started business at 867 Boulevard St-Rene Ouest, in premises of barely 1,000 square feet. For several years, François and Charles had to separate the tasks of: sales representative, cashier, water analysis technician, warehouse clerk, delivery person, accounting clerk and even pool installer on occasion. Hours and hours of work! At that time, the weeks were long and the pay rather meager. It is therefore with boundless relentlessness and thanks to golden wives that they have been able to stay the course on their objectives.
1995
Piscines Aqua-Pro expands for the first time and triples its area (3,000 square feet) by demolishing the wall separating them from the adjacent premises.
1996
Piscines Aqua-Pro is expanding for the second time and must rent an additional outdoor warehouse with an area of 1,500 square feet.
1987
The new outdoor warehouse is already too small… Aqua-Pro Pools is expanding for the 3rd time and must increase the storage area to 3,500 square feet. So, to date, Piscines Aqua-Pro occupies 6,500 square feet, i.e. a 3,000 square foot room + 3,500 square feet of outdoor warehouse.
1998
Following an astonishing success, Piscines Aqua-Pro, then an independent retailer, began to make its mark and became the subject of many discussions within the major banners in business at that time. The Sima® Group, Swimming Pool Independent Merchant Association, which was then looking for new members, returned to the charge (following an initial negotiation in 1995) and approached Piscines Aqua-Pro for the second time. The Sima Group was a wonderful opportunity because their concept was to provide their members with the greatest purchasing power in Canada while leaving everyone the latitude and autonomy of an independent business. This time was the right one and a new business partnership was born.
Since that time, François Lyons, still the owner of Aqua-Pro, has not only become one of the greatest representatives of the Sima® Group, but is also one of its shareholders as well as zone director. GroupeSima® is by far the best business concept in the pool, spa and landscaping industry. Both retailers and consumers… there’s something for everyone…

Still a victim of its own success, Piscines Aqua-Pro no longer had a choice… We had to move, but where? Out of nowhere came the business opportunity they had been waiting for. 807 St-René Ouest, then the property of RH Electric is for sale! 15,000 square feet on 2 floors, a few meters from the original place of business.
